Lean on God

Have you ever been scared of something new? Maybe a new school, a new house, or a new team where you didn't know anyone. New things can make our hearts feel shaky.

Katie, an Awana kid, felt that way when her family moved across the country. She was worried about leaving her friends and wondered if she'd fit in. But Katie remembered a verse she had learned at Awana: Proverbs 3:5–6. It reminded her that God had a plan for her, even when she couldn't see it.

Katie's Awana ribbons are a reminder of the verses she learned, and the God she learned to trust.

To trust God means to lean on Him, like leaning back into a big, comfy chair that you know will hold you. We don't have to figure everything out on our own. God sees the whole path, and He promises to guide us one step at a time.

Katie leaned on God, and He gave her great new friends. Whatever feels big for your family this week, you can lean on Him too.
